Some Odd Girl Digi Tuesday - Grandpa Feeds the Ducks

If you haven't seen already, there are two new images in the Some Odd Girl shop! This one is called Grandpa Feeds the Ducks and it's the latest addition to the Grand series. I am totally in love with this card. I had so much fun coloring him and his cute little duckies! The sentiment is from the clear stamp set Renew, and I think it works perfectly with the clear-screened 'Today' embellishment. I love him with the Fancy Pants Park Bench papers and the wee little yellow buttons.

I hope you enjoyed my project today! There is still time to squeak in your project to the Some Odd Girl Monthly Challenge. This month is Pot O' Gold! It goes through the 30th!

SOG Inspiration - Easter Cupcake Toppers

Good morning, Oddies! Alexis joining you here today with a fun inspiration post. For this project, I decided to mush together two of my favorite things. Baking cupcakes and Some Odd Girl images and made adorable cupcake toppers! I had an Easter theme in mind for these, since it's just around the corner, but you could do any theme or holiday with these just by switching out the image. I used Shy Bunny and Eggster Bunny for these and chose some bright spring-colored paper for the backer.

March Inspiration 1

The best thing about this project is that it really couldn't be simpler to make. I used my Zing cutter to make the exact shapes and sizes I wanted, but you can just as easily use your favorite die or punch for the backer pieces. I cut two of the base shape, because I attach that to the other side of the stick so that you can't see it on the back. Just attach your colored image to the top with pop dots and voila! Instant Cute-On-A-Stick!

March Inspiration 2
I hope you try this for your next holiday party or birthday! It's super fun, simple and all your guests will be impressed, I assure you! Then don't forget to post pictures of your awesome creations on our Facebook Group! And if you haven't already, hop on over and sign up for the Some Odd Girl Newsletter! It's always full of goodies!

SOG Digi Tuesday - Strolling Mae & Nurse Kaylee

Another good morning! Today I am bringing you a couple of creations using two new Digi's being released at Some Odd Girl today! The first is Strolling Mae, which bears an uncanny resemblance to our DT Coordinator, the lovely Leah L'Orange. So, I had a lot of fun coloring the adorable image up so that it looked even more like her! I used Cosmo Cricket papers from the Creative Girl 8x8 stack and a couple rub-one and flair.

For card number two, I used the new Nurse Kaylee! This has been a big request over at the Facebook Group, so it was fun to see it come to fruition. Great image for a get well soon card, but I kept it more general using the 'You can fix anything' sentiment from the Steampunk Kaylee set.I like the little heart paper, which looks like the lines on a heart monitor....only a bit more literal. *Snicker*

I hope you all enjoy the new release, and don't forget to submit your projects to this month's 'Pot O' Gold' challenge! See you soon!

I'm almost sad to see this release come to an end, but here we are at the last of the Hipster collection with the lovely Hipster Mae! *Twirls her* I gave her cool clip in pink streaks and super cute purple and mint outfit and of course she's got her hip handbag and latte. I imagine her out on the town, taking lots of selfies! *Snickers*

Well, now that we're winding down, how did you like the release? Wasn't it fab? Or should I say, hip? Swing by the shop to pick these babies up, and the festivities are still in full swing over at the Facebook page! See you there!

SOG Clear Release - Hipster Pets

Hello my dapper friends! It's day two of the new Hipster clear stamp release and today we're bringing you Hipster Pets! I actually made two projects with them, because I just couldn't resist the cute! The first is my dapper fox. I've named him Lord Swishytail. I used a book page for the back and stamped him directly on the page and then I colored him using Tim Holtz Distress Markers. I love the way the copy still shows through a little through the ink. I used a piece of vellum behind his monocle and added the bowler hat and mustache add on stamps in the set.

The next I've named Captain Whiskermittens. He's quite dapper as well, and I think he and Lord Swishytail would get along famously. I actually used the reverse cuts from the Fox card to make the Cat's card and added some more of the Fancy Pants Swagger paper and coordinating bakers twine and buttons.

I adore this set, and I know you will too. Pick it up at the shop, and while you're at it, pick up Hipster Kody and sneak a peek at tomorrow's release! Don't forget to join us at the Facebook release party!

SOG Clear Release - Hipster Kody

Good morning, lovies!! The Some Odd Girl clear stamp release you've all been waiting for it finally here! Wooooo! This is the first stamp from the release, and he's called Hipster Kody! Is he totally hip or what? I can't help but adore him, partially because he's so fun to color, partially because he's so different from a lot of the other Kody stamps and partially because of his uncanny resemblance to Johnny Depp....*Giggles* I loved tricking out this card with some vintage buttons and grungy papers from the Fancy Pants Swagger line. The sentiments that come with this stamp are perfect and I can never seem to have enough cool guy projects.

Go and get yours at the shop now, or stay tuned this week for the rest of the release and grab them all! If you haven't already noticed we're having a release party this week for the Hipster Stamp sets over on the Facebook page and we're going to be having lots of fun games and trivia! Join us in the fun!

March Challenge - Pot O' Gold

I've been dying to use Moulin Mae in a project, and this month's Pot O' Gold challenge seemed like the perfect opportunity! She looks perfect surrounded by all this glitz and gold, doesn't she?

I created a trefoil background using metallic gold paint and a stencil from Heidi Swapp and used chipboard embellishments covered in Tim Holtz Distress glitter in Antique Linen. SOG Digi Release - Daffodil Fairy & Daydreaming Fairy

Today's release has not one, but two Awwwwwww-mazing fairies in it!! If you've already colored the super cute clear stamps and you've just been sitting around twiddling your thumbs, this is the release for you! First up is Daffodil Fairy! She's cute as a button, isn't she? I actually printed and colored her up in layers, with the wings being the base (and covered in pretty glitter) and then the fairy and then the flower being a layer all to itself. The sentiment is from Pixie Dust and the embellishments are a combination of wood stars and teenie tiny sequins.
Next up is Daydream Fairy. I love her sweet long hair bedecked with flowers and who doesn't love a mushroom (Me, I'm deathly allergic, but this kind is crazy cute! The sentiment is from Fairy
Magic. The papers all came from this month's Simon Say Stamp card kit and a few embellishments from the latest Paper Issues Swag Bag for good measure.

SOG Tutorial - Masking

Good morning Oddies!! Today I'm coming at you with a tutorial on inks and masking using Some Odd Girl cut files. Everyone adores the Digi's and stamps for obvious reasons, but I never overlook either the stamp cut files or the background cut files and I'll show you why! These versatile pieces can be one of the most important parts of your crafty arsenal. I used Puppy Love Mae stamp, sentiment & cut file along with the Star Fall Background cut file to make this already super cute image pop of the card!

Feb Tutorial

For details on how I made this beauty, watch the video below!

Playing with inks is so much fun and adds a whole new dimension to your cards and projects. I hope to see some of you all getting ink soon. I hope you've learned a bit about the versatility of Some Odd Girl cut files today, and don't forget, you can put it to good use in this month's blog challenge, which is all about misting and masking! SOG Digi Release - Hand Holding Mae & Kody

*Waves* I'm in puppy love with the new release this week from Some Odd Girl! I love a good couple stamp and who is better than Mae and Kody? (The answer is no one) I had a lot of fun creating a neat-o translucent heart background and using papers from the new Fancy Pants paper line. The sentiment is from Artist Mae and it's decorated with sequins and a bit of doodling.

I think they are totally sweet together, don't you?

SOG Digi - Best Man & Formal Mae

Hey there! Me again with this week's awesome Digi release!! I was crazy excited about this one, because not only do we get an amazing Formal Mae, but we also get Best Man, which can either be an adorable Bromance or a cute gay couple. You choose. Totally cool, yeah? To start, we have Best Man. If any of you know me, you know I'm a kind of crazy Drarry fan. (Drarry = Draco/Harry fanfiction) I've even been known to write it. So when I saw this digi, I instantly thought of them and colored them up accordingly. *Winks* I think they are super cute and I want to smoosh them together and yell "KISS!". *Clears throat*

Moving on.....

And then we have the ever so stylish Formal Mae in her swanky gown. She's totally rockin the Angelina Jolie leg pose, which I love. I'm crazy about how her dress turned out in the red. I used to be terrified to color red, but now it's one of my favorite colors. The sentiment is also one of my faves from the I Do stamp released in December. I've been using the heck out of that set!

I hope you guys find some inspiration here, or at the very least some entertainment. *Grins* Go to the shop to get yours, and while you're at it, swing by and visit the blog for this month's challenge: Misting & Masking! As always there are some fun prizes up for grabs. Loverly Cards

Hi there! This is my very first project to enter at the Paper Issues blog! This month the challenge is You Are Just My Type and I thought that a sweet Valentine's Day card for my even sweeter husband was just the ticket!

I used papers & embellishments from the Fancy Pants Beloved line (here, here & here) and First Dance Mae from Some Odd Girl.

I hope you enjoy my newest card and yes. I have serious Paper Issues.

SOG Featured Digi - Spectacular Soiree

For the next couple weeks, Some Odd Girl will be offering Spectacular Soiree for a discounted price! WOOT! This digi is so perfect for birthday cards, party invites, anything really!

It was so much fun coloring this image to give each girl their own personality! And I paired it up with some of the Arrow Cards cut files to make it a fun tri-fold card!

It's kind of funny, because in my head I've always seen Mae and Kody together, with Tia and Tobie as their kids and Kaylee as Mae's spunky best pal. Ha! I've totally made a story in my head for Kristy's fun characters! How about you guys? How do you see this little trio?

SOG Community Challenge - Mix and Match color

This week in the SOG Ning Community, the challenge is to use color! You have to mix and match 3 of the following 4 colors: Turquiose, Lime Green, Yellow and Pink

I used Birthday Mae and the sentiment from Baker Mae for this awesomely funtastic card. It's going to my best friend Brenna for her birthday, who we call Bakerella, so I think it's totes appropriate, don't you? This color combo makes me so happy! Let's see what you guys do with it! And don't forget about our Monthly Challenge. This month is TAGS! Who doesn't love those, right?

SOG CHA Sneak Peek - Hipster Kody

Are you feeling cool today, Oddies? Ironically so, perhaps? Well, have I got a sneaky treat for you! Alexis here with today CHA sneaky peek and today it's Hipster Kody! I love this whole release, but I have to admit, I kind of have a crush on this stamp. Maybe it's the cool guy glasses, or maybe it's the man purse, but I have a feeling it has more to do with his uncanny resemblance to Johnny Depp...*Clears throat* Okay, back to business. Here is the card I made for CHA using this awesome stamp and one of the super cool sentiments that comes with the set.

Hipster Kody
Now I bet you can't wait to see more! Well, you're in luck, because at 9am Eastern time tomorrow we'll have one last super sneaky sneak peek for you...what will it be, can you guess? While you wait, why not enter our January Tag! You're it! Challenge?! I think it's a good idea and I'll bet Hipster Kody would think you were pretty rad if you do!

January Challenge - Tag! You're it!

Hello there! So, welcome to my first post of the new year! Today I bring you my project for the Some Odd Girl January monthly challenge. The theme this month is to work a tag (or tags) into your creation! I did a kid's birthday card with this one and made a pocket on the front to hold the tag. I think it's great for a young kid who likes to read REAL books because they can take the tag out and use it as a bookmark!

I used the lion and sentiment from the recently released clear set On Safari and the birthday sentiment from Birthday Mae.

I'm excited to see what the rest of you do with this challenge! Don't forget to enter your project here and you could win this month's prize!
